Portuguese part-time courses at City St George’s
From beginners and beyond, we offer a part-time course tailored to your knowledge of Portuguese and level of conversation. Each level has three parts designed to get gradually more challenging.
You can choose from start dates throughout the year in October, January and April/May. We also let you take control of how you learn – pick whether you take modules separately or sign up for the full year of training for even better value on fees.
Beginners - year 1
Develop a solid grasp of basic Portuguese. You’ll explore everyday vocabulary and simple grammatical structures.
Join us here if you have little or no experience of learning Portuguese.
Working CEFR A1 level.
You can study the syllabus in three parts

Portuguese Beginners (part 1)
- Suitable for total beginners
- Start in October, January or April/May
- 10 evening classes over 10 weeks.

- Suitable for near beginners (you’ve studied Portuguese formally for 20+ hours)
- Start in January
- 10 evening classes over 10 weeks.

- Suitable for experienced beginners (you’ve studied Portuguese formally for 40+ hours)
- Start in April/May
- 10 evening classes over 10 weeks.
