The Patrick Amos Bloomfield Bursary was established in 2024 following the sudden death of Hymans Robertson’s dear colleague and friend in September 2023 and is given in honour of academic excellence, demonstration of financial need, and promise of continued growth.
Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) alumnus Patrick Amos Bloomfield gained a first class (hons) BSc in Actuarial Science at City in 1996 and became a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2001.
He joined Hymans Robertson in 2004 and his passion and deep understanding of the pensions industry quickly led to him being made a Partner in 2006 and an Equity Member of the firm in 2010. His professional brilliance and flamboyant personality made him a treasured leader and guiding force throughout the firm for nearly 20 years.
He cared deeply about Hymans Robertson, their unique culture and everything they believe in. His contribution will leave a mark on the firm for many, many years.
The Bursary, which is valued at £15,000 in total per student, will be paid at £5,000 annually for the duration of the student’s studies (for a maximum of three years) commencing academic year 2024/25.
