Korean Beyond Beginners Part 2 Course overview
If you aspire to reach A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), then this course can help set you on the right path.
The online course is primarily for those who have completed part 1 of the beyond beginners' course at City previously as it will follow on seamlessly covering new topics beneficial for your learning of Korean.
During the ten weeks, you will learn to converse through a variety of mediums in Korean including on the phone and text messaging. You will also become more familiar with communicating on public transport and travelling.

The course is designed for students who have completed Korean Beyond Beginners (Part 1) course at City or equivalent.

Timetable
The course consists of ten weekly classes, delivered online and taught by a native Korean speaker.
Course start dates are usually in January and April/May.

Assessment and certificates
You will be awarded an official City, University of London certificate on completion of the course if you attend over 70 per cent of the classes. The course is not formally accredited.
Teaching
Classes are taught online in an intimate and interactive environment. There will be the opportunity for group discussions and practice along with one-to-one conversations in breakout rooms.
You will have access to additional learning materials online and learn through speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
Guidance and support are readily available for all students who want to improve their Korean.
Eligibility
It is the right level if you have either:
- completed our Korean Beyond Beginners (Part 1) course or equivalent
- studied formally for 80 hours or more.
You should already be able to:
- make plans for the weekend
- arrange a meeting or rendezvous
- ask and respond to questions about a schedule
- express symptoms and prohibitions
- talk about illness.
