The Doctoral College supports the Schools in the delivery of research programmes, organising training and social events as well as interdisciplinary research symposia. When applying to a research programme with us you commit to an ethos focusing on collaboration, innovation and quality.
We are members of various Research Council doctoral training partnerships and centres which offer full funding and training programmes and we also provide a range of funded studentships to which you can apply.

You should approach a supervisor in your area of interest and develop a proposal for your thesis. This will be assessed by academics with expertise in your area, who will engage with you about your ideas and how they might be supported at City.
