LLB (Hons)
Extensive, rigorous and taught by experts.
We offer an intimate, friendly, and stimulating environment for you to study in. We encourage our students to take part in all areas of the law outside of everyday teaching. We run annual mooting competitions and offer you opportunities to volunteer to take part in pro bono work.
Our LLB (Hons) is academically rigorous and taught by experts in their fields. It will provide you with a sound grounding in the principles of law to prepare you for a career in the profession.
As well as our LLB programme, there is also an opportunity in the 3rd year should you wish, to develop your own areas of special interest through a wide ranging choice of modules and pathways in:
- LLB Law with Commercial Law
- LLB Law with International Law
- LLB Law with Human Rights
- LLB Law with Professional Practice.
These modules can be useful as they can give you an edge in certain fields of employment as well as demonstrate your commitment to a specific subject area of law to an employer.
Our focus is to make you highly employable and equipped with transferable skills to pursue a successful career in or outside the legal profession.
Supporting your career choice
At The City Law School our academics carry out a high standard of teaching and research. This cutting-edge work will be brought directly into your teaching providing you with state-of-the-art knowledge in the subject of Law.
By completing the LLB (Hons) with us you acquire analytical communications and other transferable skills that allow to confidently apply for jobs in law and legal services, but also in diverse areas like banking and finance, government, politics, charity and NGOs, or academia.
You may also decide to continue your studies and become a fully-qualified solicitor or barrister.
Routes after the LLB
Our LLB (Hons) is recognised by The Law Society of England and Wales, as satisfying the initial academic stage of legal training.
This means that once you complete your degree you can directly go on to either the Bar Vocational Studies (BVS) if you want to embark on a career at the Bar or the Solicitors' Practice Programme (SPP) if you want to become a solicitor.

Other routes to a law profession
A Graduate Entry LLB will allow you to achieve a senior status law degree as a non-law graduate in just two years rather than the regular three with our fast-track Graduate Entry LLB programme.
A Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) is a conversion course for students that wish to follow either the Solicitor or Barrister career path, but haven't studied for an Undergraduate LLB previously.
