City, University of London continues to improve and build on the success of the development of flexible learning spaces and now has a wide variety of spaces available including rooms with modular furniture for group-based learning and discussions.
The Digital Education Team in Learning Enhancement and Development (LEaD), have the remit of collaborating on the design and development of all Learning Spaces at City.
The team collaborates with other Professional Services departments to ensure excellent standards for learning and teaching are maintained, be that within the physical spaces for the academic and student community, or by promoting the benefit of all technologies.
This includes systems such as lecture capture, technologies, Audience Response Systems, visualisers and teaching podiums.
LEaD are a fundamental part of the design team of physical learning spaces, such as lecture theatres, seminar rooms and computer laboratories.
The Digital Education department work closely with City's IT and AV teams, as well as the Property and Facilities directorate to ensure that pedagogical principles are key to the redesign of City’s learning spaces.
The Learning Environment Committee provides oversight of major/strategic projects and activities that affect the learning environment (defined as virtual and physical spaces) at City.
There are a variety of rooms at the Northampton Square campus which have flexible furniture to support group-based learning and discussions.
